My first post.
There is some debate about the "true" definition of the "North Shore" of Chicago. As I understand it, originally this referred to the communities serviced by the North Line commuter train system. For the purposes of this blog, I will be using a broader definition - call it "Nancy's North Shore" - this includes all suburbs from Evanston to Lake Forest along the Lake Michigan (yes, Metra's North Line) , plus Deerfield, Northbrook, Northfield, Highwood, and Skokie. This is where I grew up and where I live now. This is where I am raising my family.
I don't claim to know everything about the area, but I do know a lot. Yet, there is always something new to learn - I hope to expand my knowledge and yours through this blog.
As a former business executive I logged quite a number of hours on Metra heading into downtown Chicago every business day. I also lived in the city for 4 1/2 years - so if you have some questions about the Chicago, I may be able to help you out on that front too. If not, I can usually point you in the right direction.
Your opinions and thoughts are welcome. You can post your ideas to the blog to share with others, or if you've just got a question for me, send me an email.
Thanks for reading!
